In 1990, Florida Vedic College opened as the first Vedic college in the United States.
It deserved a real institution: structure, standards, and degrees that mean something.
So he built one.
For some fifty years, Mahābuddhi dāsa served his spiritual masters, Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Swāmī Prabhupāda and Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Mahārāja.
To follow that essence, upheld by all the ācāryas, and to lead others into the applied Vedic sciences, he joined with like-minded members of the same guru-paramparā and founded Florida Vedic College, a place free of all sectarianism and fanaticism in the search and service of our lives.
Blessed by the example of the Six Gosvāmīs of Vṛndāvana, the college remains an open association of members drawn from many of Vṛndāvana's missions.
A Global, Recognized College
❖Since 1990, students have come to us from India, Europe, China, Latin America, and beyond. We were among the first institutions anywhere to offer complete degree programs online, and the first college outside India to grant degrees in Vedic astrology.
Recognized under Florida law as a religious college, Florida Vedic College confers genuine degrees from bachelor's through doctorate. Our doctoral graduates include respected spiritual teachers serving around the world.
As a religious institution, our certification comes through private religious and professional bodies rather than the U.S. Department of Education, a status we hold by choice and verify with the State each year.

This is the heart of bhakti, the path of loving devotion, carried forward through paramparā: an unbroken succession of teacher and student. Everything we teach, from yoga to Spiritual Philosophy to sacred art, grows from this root.
In the spirit of unity and diversity, and the non-sectarian love and mercy of Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, we respect all the branches of the Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Sampradāya tree, welcoming teachers, students, and guest lecturers from the many maths, sanghas, and missions in this line.
In the Vedic tradition, all knowledge descends through paramparā — an unbroken succession of teacher and student. In keeping with this sacred understanding, and with the custom of offering respect to one's guru before any undertaking, our founder Mahābuddhi Prabhu hereby offers his humble obeisances to his beloved spiritual masters.

Our faculty are not self-appointed. Each teacher has lived their subject for years, received their knowledge within a recognized lineage, and been authorized by that lineage to teach.

Following the teachings given to us, we are presenting to you a pioneering project to bring Vedic wisdom to students throughout the world. Please bear with us, as many of our projects are in their beginning stages.
We are offering opportunities for volunteering and participation across many of our seva projects, including cultural programs, permaculture farms, yoga, and Vedic psychology, through a variety of courses, both online and localized. Also for teacher assistants and technicians.
It is our sincere attempt to serve you to the fullest degree possible.
